Young Men Trying to Imitate the 9-11 Scenario, Part II
What happened to General Aviation following 9-eleven? Why did we consider the ITC absent in the late 80′s? Why had been we hostile with IRS regulations toward Civil Air Patrol pilot proprietors? What else did this cause and why is it significant to this Component II of aviation mentor-ships for young men? We carry on now with Component II of "Young Males trying to imitate the 9-eleven Scenario."
Wichita KS boomed due to the Ivestment Tax Credit score regulations and the town had plenty of population to draw from for mechanics, because so numerous people worked in the aviation factories. Also private enterprise gave us more improvements, people like Burt Rutan came onto the scene with the Vari Eze, Long Eze, Vari Viggen. At Oshkosh (World’s greatest air display and aviation gathering) he had more orders for kits of his composite aircraft than he could fulfill in a lifetime. Thus composite was brought into common aviation. For the first time common aviation had brought new improvements to aerospace. This meant we would have more pilots for military, airlines and the like. Thus creating much better pilots for the airline demands and of course with a larger pot to choose the crème, much better pilots means much better safety. An problem I have currently with the newest pilots coming on board at airlines, who cannot truly fly an airplane. They can fly a small by the on board pc till the pc burps. We will see more pc associated accidents in the next several many years till their technologies is improved and we are pressured to re-align our training methods to include flying the plane. Of course within twenty many years aircraft will fly themselves like commuter trains in metro areas do now. Incidentally Burt Rutan is a stanch supporter of CAP. If you will go to the Midland TX airport you will see numerous war birds and antique aircraft at the Confederate Air Force Museum, numerous of those kinds of aircraft are registered in the CAP and are utilized on missions. Without the tax create off they could not be flown as often creating a terrible array of accidents in older aircraft. The more proficient a pilot is the much better faculties accessible in an emergency. Nothing replaces expertise in aviation. The CAP was the mentoring program that was required in the situation of this young pilot. However our personal government had gone following this organization and reduce it down to size, calling it a tax shelter? Nicely, that is great, so now you have less pilots, with expertise, denial of young people in flight applications, elevated expenses to fly, less aircraft flying, elevated insurance coverage ( users-more accidents), and now we have children crashing into buildings. Not a direct result of course but if that child had been able to be active in CAP, Junior ROTC, Boy Scouts Aviation Explorers or the EEA Eagles System then I wager this would not have happened.
When I was in the Boy Scouts explorers we went to Edwards Air force base and toured a B-1 Bomber a yr following they came into existence. We toured the factory at Santa Maria CA where they made Aerostar 601s. We went to watch missile launches at Vandenburg Air Force Base. We did all sorts of things, cool things. Numerous of us gathered from different higher schools, there had been only two or three from every higher college in the program. Not everybody could come to all events. College things of course got in the way. Some of us had been in sports activities, some in other extracurricular actions. I even had to operate a company. I do keep in mind going to those events. I was in the CAP also where we had two Piper Super Cubs, which I had 14 hours in, at truly no cost, token, monies and insurance coverage and club dues. All I had to do was study floor college and consider aviation tests, which I cherished anyway. All this was accessible to us cadets as we had been called through the senior members, because of their presents due to the tax create offs they received for fuel and so on. We marched, went to a shortened edition of boot camp. I was athletically inclined, operating in boots sucked but it was a good time anyway. They called us names, yelled at us, and taught us self-discipline and the advantage, they taught us to fly. I was 12-14 at the time. I still believe that this program teaches more than any advice counselor at any college. The counselor at this young man’s college did not understand what was a matter with this child. How could they understand what it means to fly? They are floor lovers.
People who fly believe more three demisional, like those who build train sets and operate them about their show. American Indians, those in the mountains had much more knowing and intellect than those in the plains. They had been pressured to see the world differently and with this information a much better knowing. They had been also much better fighters and much harder to defend against as Westward settlers quickly discovered out. A young man who is launched to flying has a much much better chance of knowing what he wants to be when he grows up. Instead we have children who still have not made the decision what they want to do till they are a junior in school, if they make it that far. Numerous do not and all they know is they want to be rich, however a master of nothing, getting learned no real skill or information base to accomplish the goal of residing well or even being rich. Not that they would learn it in college anyway, Calvin Coolidge said there are numerous educated derelicts. Without the training, mentors, information they find as Tom Peter’s would say "any street requires them there". And that is where we are these days. This young man is not a reflection on our FARs-Federal Aviation Regulations, his steps and death are a reflection of what one of the messages of Ayn Rand was trying to say. It is our society, which breaks down the strength of the person on their mission to make everybody the same.
