Is Your Job Search Guided by the Controller or the Controllee?
I will outline what I mean by these terms. “The Controller” is a career seeker that is ruled by performing every thing correct. He/she has read all of the suitable publications, done a good career composing a resume, but is still unemployed.
“The Controllee” has also read all of the best publications about the career lookup, has a credible resume, but is still with out function.
What can each of them do to make their career lookup campaign: Work.
The individual who is controlling what they believe is a good campaign is not stopping to: Polish and have fantastic inter-personal skills doesn’t deliver a thank you note and doesn’t ask for the career.
The individual who is becoming managed
by the process needs to assess their campaign and see what they are leaving out. Is their networking heading well, is their sufficient adhere to-up? Is there space produced for the unexpected and spontaneous? (Flaws that the controlling individual needs to be conscious of too.)
These are my remedies. Strategy, strategy, strategy, adhere to-up, deliver out thank you cards, give as a lot as you consider and look at most rejections with a bag of salt. By all means have some fun with the entire danged lookup! Versatile people get most work.
