Reading the Want Ads–Not for Jobs–For Information
What? Want advertisements are where task announcements are, not info!
Wait! Job want advertisements are full of info if you know what to do and how to use them.
Doubtful? Here are some ideas of the sorts of info you can discover as a task seeker. They are:
1. Start by searching for the advertisements that are in the class of jobs you want to apply for. Cut and paste these task announcements on paper for later on viewing.
2. Read the relaxation of the advertisements cautiously to see if there are other jobs advertised from the same locations that you have chosen from your own choice. If there are any, that will give you an idea of what this business is performing. Maybe it is employing for several classes. Instance: They may be expanding and searching for employees for much more than 1 type of task.
three. Appear for designs in the jobs that are advertised. If there are numerous in the health field, for example, then that tells you that health requirements are not totally served in your community. (Yes, it may be that this is a nationwide trend about health care, not sufficient health employees. This is an example of only 1 field).
four. The most promiment of these employers may be who you target for informational interviews if you notice they have advertised for several positions to be filled. Start your research right here to get individual names of these employers. Easy research from your local library.
5. Yes, apply for the jobs on your sheet that you have identified. Appear for designs for at least two weeks to see if the employer continues to promote for the same position/s. If so, both they have not discovered credible candidates or the task is not a great 1. Examine them out with informational interviewing anyway.
6. Continue on your “research project” in searching for designs of employment opportunities for yourself. You may want to devise your own list of designs to suit your own requirements, not just these.
7. Plenty of other people get compensated to discover these sources of employment. They are often known as labor marketplace researchers. Now you are 1 and can discover your own task!
