Creating and Living Your Ideal Legacy
A legacy is much more than a present that lives on after you. Certainly, a legacy is a contribution to humanity. A legacy offers value to long term generations. However, if you are making your perfect legacy, it will also make your heart bubble with passion and excitement today!
Louisa Alcott wrote: “When Emerson’s library was burning at Concord, I went to him as he stood with the firelight on his strong, sweet face, and endeavored to express my sympathy for the reduction of his most valued possessions, but he answered cheerily, ‘Never thoughts, Louisa, see what a beautiful blaze they make! How can you start making and residing your perfect legacy today?
one. Decide What You Worth the Most
Write down all the issues that you value, and select at least five core values: these issues that offer the foundation for your actions, beliefs, and philosophies. Examples of values are love, well being, spirituality, family, career, adventure, peace, and community.
2. Draw a Time Line of Your Life
Draw a long line and mark it by many years and months starting with your birthday. Extend it for decades after your life will have ended. Include all the issues you have carried out and issues you want to do. Include the advantages long term generations will experience from your contributions. Show how your life’s work will really continue after you. Your timeline is a very eye opening physical exercise. Spend adequate time with it and fill in as many particulars as feasible. Then return from time to time to update your timeline and add extra particulars.
three. Write a Objective Statement
Notice the themes running through your timeline. They can help to reveal your purpose if you are not already conscious of it. A purpose statement is a simple, private statement that guides your every day actions. For instance, you might create, “I help other people to reside happy and healthy lives” or “I create artwork that brings spiritual awareness.” Do not confuse a purpose statement with a mission statement, which is a much more particular way you might fulfill your purpose.
4. Concentrate on These days
Your timeline introduced a big image. What is your concentrate just for today? Spend sufficient time focusing on your current steps as nicely as on the long term. How are your actions in every second supporting your values and contributing to your purpose? If you are on purpose, you will feel authentically happy and fulfilled.
five. Transfer Forward with Gratitude
Reside your perfect legacy by taking positive steps every day toward your vision for a much better globe. Savor the little treasures in your relationships with people.
