Getting Started in ECommerce ? Part Two

In Part 1 we talked a small bit about what Ecommerce is, getting a domain name and setting up a merchant account. Ecommerce is much more than that, a lot much more. To have a truly good online presence that will get individuals to stop and store you need a technique for good results. Your technique must include your USP or Unique Promoting Position in the market. What makes you stand out from all the other online business owners looking for the exact same kind of customers as you? Can you stand out from the competitors based on quality, cost or advantages? Once you know your USP, you can begin the monumental task of telling the world about your site. A truly distinctive selling position will give you an advantage over all the competitors ? well that and a great deal of planning and investing of your time and money.

Concentrate

Emphasize the advantages and the results the customer will get from purchasing from you and using your product or support. You can uncover the advantages by listing all the features and then changing them to advantages. Checklist everything your product or support offers. For each function checklist a relative advantage from the customer’s point of view. You can uncover the customer’s perspectives when they purchase. Merely inquire them, &quot Why did you place an purchase these days or use our support?&quot BE extremely specific when creating your benefit statements. An instance of this is, &quotYou will conserve $100.00 sells much better than &quotyou will conserve money.&quot &quotYou will loose 20 lbs in ten days&quot seems much better than &quotyou will loose weight.&quot Rank your advantages in purchase of significance to the customer. If you have sufficient of them, use bullet factors for emphasis.

Emotion sells. People make most buying choices with their heart and not their head. Paint a picture of the results the customer will get when they purchase from you. &quot You will look 20 years younger.&quot &quotYou will be $100 richer.&quot

Make sure you include a phone to action. Want them to make a buying choice these days? Give them a reason to do so. Offer a bribe (discount, bonus, some thing for nothing).

Your web site must load rapidly and function easily. If your site loads gradually individuals will get impatient and go elsewhere. Do all your hyperlinks function? Have you examined your purchase page by operating sample orders? Have you examined load time using various connection speeds? You can get a fr*ee evaluation by going to Submitplus.com.

Make your web site easy to look at and study. I find dark background tend to be much more difficult to study than do pale backgrounds. The general look of your site should be clear and professional. When we were initial creating the Women’s ECommerce Association, Worldwide we did everything in-home. Not becoming truly adept at HTML coding we believed we could just use a easy program to produce a professional site. It was okay, but the 1 we now have is so a lot much better. Why? Because we hired a professional. You can produce a web site with a good template program. We are using ECommerce Templates to produce our new look for WUN Publications. It is easy to use and fairly inexpensive.

When it arrives to graphics, be conservative. Websites that are laden with graphics and flash tend to take lengthier to load. If your site requires much more than 3 seconds to do so, you will loose numerous guests and potential buyers. If you must use graphics, make sure the files meaments used have been decreased as a lot as your picture editing/compression software will permit.

See your site using as numerous various browsers as possible. In addition to Internet Explorer and Netscape, there is Opera, Mozilla, Lynx and those are just the ones that run on Microsoft Windows. WebMonkey has a chart of those supported by Macintosh, Unix/Linux and other people. Also, numerous individuals will surf with their browser’s graphics switched off. Make sure you know what your site looks like with out the graphics and that it is still easy for guests to surf.

1 final believed Make sure all your important information is over the fold. If you know that guests are looking for some thing specific and you make them scroll down to find it, chances are they will not.
