Have You Played Chicago Golf Courses?


When most people think of Chicago, they usually think of a large town, plenty of tall buildings, maybe Oprah. That is accurate, but did you know that Chicago is the home to dozens of golf applications?

Chicago was designed as &ampquotUrbs in Horto&ampquot, the Town in the park. There are a great deal of golf applications in Chicago for all ability ranges, from newbies to championship degree golfers. Here are a number of applications to consider:

Chicago Park District Golf Programs

The Chicago Park District has 6 golf applications, three driving ranges and two miniature golf applications. Jackson Park Golf System was the city’s first public golf program. This 18-hole program has mature trees lining the fairways. The Sydney R. Marovitz Golf System, formerly Waveland, is a nine-hole program correct on Chicago’s lakefront in Lincoln Park. The Chicago Park District’s latest program is Robert A. Black, a nine-hole program. This tough two,339 yard, par 33 layout was designed by the renowned Dick Nugent. Cook County Forest Protect Golf Programs

There are eleven Cook County Forest Protect golf applications. one of their applications, George W. Dunne Nationwide, is the Forest Preserve’s premier 18-hole program, 6690 yards par 72 with a renovated apply facility. The Green at Grant Park

Want to apply your short game? You can, correct downtown on Monroe Street close to Lake Michigan. The Green at Grant Park is an 18-hole putting program, featuring accurate-to-golf greens surrounded by lush gardens. For more info, go to http://www.thegreenonline.com/

Harborside Globally Golf Center

Are you a serious golfer? Play at Harborside Globally Golf Center, Chicago’s upscale championship golf facility. It has two 18-hole applications, the Port and the Starboard applications, designed by Dick Nugent on the website of a landfill. This award-winning program has often been in contrast to traditional treeless Scottish golf applications. They also have a prairie style clubhouse was designed in the Frank Lloyd Wright tradition. Cog Hill Golf and Country Club

Ready for an extra serious golfer’s challenge, but with tree-lined fairways? Cog Hill was founded by golfer Joe Jemsek in 1927. This family owned facility has four 18-hole regulation golf applications and a state-of-the-artwork driving assortment. System #four is the nationally ranked Dubsdread program precisely exactly where the Western Open has been played because 1991. Cog Hill is situated about thirty miles southwest of Chicago.
