Science Articles: About Battery Rechargeable

Have you ever had a rechaargeable battery? If this battery has been fully charged then has not been used for a long time, so it can be empty again. Why? We have answer in one of our science articles .

All batteries have 2 substance splits called electrode. There is + electrode and – electrode. When these 2 splits are connected using lamp or other electrical equipment, electron will flow from – electrode to + electrode. This electron current causes electrical current that will be able to turn on the lamp or other electrical equipment works.

In normal condition (when these electrodes are not connected,) the electrons still can flow thru separated substance within 2 electrodes. This can cause leakage and make the battery empty. For rechargeable battery that its electrode made from nickel, cadmium or metal hydride, this leakage speed can increase. The rechargeable battery’s rate is losing around 8 – 20% its ability everyday.

I hope one of this science articles can help you understanding rechargeable battery.
